Water management
·
Screening (3 layers, 60 mesh size) out water before fulfilling pond.
·
Spray crustracide
(Ripcot) on the dike and slope to remove and kill the crustacean from the pond
surrounding area.
·
Settle water in pond 3
days after complete pumping to hatch the egg (fish and crustacean) into the
pond with aeration.
·
Set up all aerator and
necessary material like catwalk, feeding tray, fencing net etc in the pond
before bleaching.

·
Set up aerator as per
production target, like each 250 kg biomass 1HP electric motor capacity aerator
or 2 paddle wheel aeration with 120 RPM.
·
Apply bleaching 60ppm in
evening to eradicate all virus carriers from the pond and spray bleaching water
in slope and dyke to kill the carrier from there also.
·
Follow up pH range
before bleaching. That pH should be less than 8 during bleaching application.
·
If pH is high then
reduce the pH level or increase the dose of bleaching to work properly.
·
If possible run aerator 15 minutes just after
apply bleaching to mix well bleaching in pond.
·
After bleaching total
pond and pond area should be highly restricted to avoid any type of
contamination.
·
Use high concentrated
KMnO4 solution in each entrance for disinfection before entry of anything.

Next day onwards drug
chain everyday in all area of pond between 8-11am and run aerator during
drugging to reduce the residual effect of bleaching and also for prevent growth
of filamentous algae.
·
Chain drugging should be
done base on farm actual situation and condition.
·
Wait 5 days for
de-chlorination and then start application for water plankton culture to make
suitable water for PL stocking, like pH 7.6-7.9, Total alkalinity 120-150,
Transparency 40-50 cm.
·
Approximately 25 days
need from treatment to prepare the pond water for ideal preparation.
·
Per acre 5-10 kg
molasses, 5-10 kg Rice bran, and 50-100 gm yeast powder if possible 200 gm pH
Fixer dissolve in more water in 2-3days and apply its juice everyday upto 7
days continuous in presence of good aeration to develop good plankton in pond water for better
survival. Dose and frequency will depend on water pH.

Any type of inorganic
fertilizer, poor quality chemical and medicine are strongly advice to avoid
application in culture pond.
·
If lime application
necessary during water preparation apply D-100 (Dolomite) 25-50kg/acre.
·
Between 5th
to 25th days apply 2-3 dose pH Fixer and 1-2 doses Super Biotic
alternatively in 4 days interval to grow beneficial bacterial colony in pond
water for better PL survival.
·
Water probiotic 2 kg pH
Fixer/acre, and 1 kg Super Biotic/acre need to apply in each doses.
·
Base on present
situation water probiotic, Molasses and rice bran dose can be needed more to
support beneficial bacteria after stocking also.
·

pond water ideal condition will be

pH 7.6-7.9
·
Alkalinity 120-150ppm
·
Greenish color
·
Transparency will be
40-50 cm
·
DO = 5-8 mg/l
·
NH3= 0 , H2S=0,
I-=0, NO3=0
·
Hardness 1000-2000 ppm
·
Ca+ and Mg+ within saline water 0 to 10 ppt = 1:1 ( 200 : 200)
