Different company product for fish, fish product analysis and overview of different aquaculture product uses :

A number of traditional as well as commercial products were used during pond preparation and for improving water quality of fish pond. The list of such branded products are used to reduce Toxic gases (like ammonia) and harmful pathogens trapped in the pores of such compound. They also absorb noxious toxic substance and off odor of water, and these ensure clear and healthy pond environment.

Disinfectants are widely used in many sphere of aquaculture. They used both hatchery and grow-out facilities mainly for equipment cleaners, to maintain hygiene and in some case to treat disease. The following disinfectants listed in table 2 were found available

Chemicals used for Oxygen (O₂) supply :

Several chemicals with very similar names were seen readily used in the study area for increase dissolved oxygen in fish pond. Oxidizing agent, hydrogen peroxide is the major active ingredients of such chemicals.

Apart from antibiotics only a handful of chemicals mostly traditional were seen available in the fish farms and hatcheries for treating fish disease. Farmers used these chemicals for treating a variety of fish disease with different doses.

Different Antibiotics products used for disease treatment :

 In the present investigation about 14 branded antibiotics with different trade name were seen in the fish farm and hatcheries as used by the fish farmers which are shown in table 5.The active ingredient of such antibiotic are mainly oxytetracycline, chloro tetracycline amoxicillin, co-trimoxa zole, sulphadiazine and sulphamethaoxazole. Varying opinions were made by the farmers about the effectiveness of particular products.

Several chemicals which were found in the fish farm and hatcheries were used as growth promoter as well as increase production. Aqua boost contains β-glucanon, immunostimulants, which enhance non-specific immunity in fish. A list of growth promoters is shown in table 6.

Use of chemicals for disease treatment by fish farmers:

collecting and compiling the list of available chemicals and antibiotics found in the fish farm and hacteries, special emphasis was given to know the emerging disease in aquaculture and use of such chemicals for their treatment. Chemicals and antibiotics used by the farmers in the field for treatment of emerging disease are summarized in Table.
